Kwame Nyong'o

Kwame is well known for his children's books "A Tasty Maandazi", "I Love Ugali and Sukuma Wiki" and "The Yummiest Githeri". Kwame's passion is to create stories from the Africa that is often not shown, positive narratives that span the continent’s past, present and exciting future

Kwame's well received shorts "The Legend of Ngong Hills" and "The Legend of Lwanda Magere", which explore animation as a way to tell East African folklore, have won many awards around the world. In 2017 and 2018, Kwame was on the team that received awards at Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in France for "The World's Most Eligible Bachelor", a campaign supporting northern White Rhino conservation in Kenya.

Living in Kenya from 2000-2020, Kwame considers himself lucky to have lived in such a vibrant place where the unique people, sights and sounds inspired him daily. Kwame currently resides in Georgia, USA with his family where he teaches animation at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
