Brandy Miller

Brandy M. Miller is a self-employed Creative Strategy Consultant for Creative Technology Services, a company she started with her husband, Randy, in November of 2011. She lives in Denver, Colorado with her husband. She is a past president of the Elko County Art Club as well as past president and co-founder of Elko County Writers. She is also the Chief Executive Story Teller for 40daywriter.com, a site where those who feel they have a story in them can get the help they need to get their story out of their heads, onto the page, and out into the world so they can make a difference, make money, and achieve their dreams.

Although she has always enjoyed reading and writing, it wasn't until she began her own business that she started taking her writing more seriously. Her first published book, How to Write an eBook in 40 Days (or less!), came out in December of 2012. She published two additional books on writing, Creating a Character Backstory and The Write Time: How to find all the time you need to write a book, released an anthology for the Elko County Writers entitled The Collected Works of the Elko County Writers, and three additional books: The Poverty Diaries: Excerpts from the Diaries of Someone Who's Been There, The Secret of the Lantern: A Choose-Your-Path Adventure for Catholic Kids, and 7 Steps to Change Your Life And The World.

Her hobbies include drawing and painting, sewing, designing fabrics (her fabric designs can be found on Spoonflower.com), and, of course, writing. Her favorite animals are horses, cats, and unicorns; all three of which can be rather elusive at times. She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas but raised in Denton, Texas from the age of 9 months where she met and married her husband and later gave birth to her son. She loves to travel and has visited almost every state west of the Mississippi and a few of those east of it. She loves the mountains and the ocean, and dreams of someday owning a home in a location which provides a happy intersection of the two.

She is unapologetically Roman Catholic, and belongs to the Universal Party - a party where the focus is on empowering the individuals of society to make changes from the ground up instead of relying on things to be done from the top down. She believes in voting for people, not parties. She affectionately describes her family as being a cereal bowl family - full to the brim with fruits, nuts, and flakes (although she leaves it up to the reader to decide the category to which she belongs). She often jokes that her ideal career would have been storehouse of useless trivia or resident smart mouth, but laments that those jobs are rarely available and seem to always be taken by the time she gets there.

Born with the initials B.S., there were only three potential career paths she could possibly have been destined for: con artist, politician, or writer. She chose the most honorable of the three. She became a writer.

Since starting Creative Technology services and founding 40DayWriter.com she has begun to fuse her passions for writing, design, and marketing into a mission to help give voices to those who can't speak for themselves and to restore power to the powerless.
