I Learned How to Lead the Wrong Way!

So have many employees now in a leadership role, or soon will be in one.

Many employees are skilled in some aspect of business or a profession. These “technical experts” (as I call them) are good at their jobs but suck in their people skills. Technical experts are more comfortable solving technical and operational problems and feel very uncomfortable in tackling people problems.

Nurturing and growing employees to lead is a must!

I’ve always felt a sense of urgency to help improve the quality of leadership because each day leaders make decisions and take actions which impact their employees, customers, partners, and others. Decisions and actions always have repercussions which can last a long time.

I became a student of leadership at seven and since then had the privilege of coaching and consulting with more than 14,000 leaders, which tremendously accelerated my learning curve.

I have nurtured new and inexperienced leaders for more than 40 years. I know what works. Future leaders need an environment to fail successfully.

My leadership books are designed for:

a) The future leader who wants to become a capable, competent, and confident leader.

b) The executive who needs to grow their own leaders.

I am is the founder and CEO of The High Road Institute, located near Seattle Washington.
