Robert Heurung

When I arrived in Vietnam in 1968 the first thing I purchased was a good

camera, knowing that it was a once in a lifetime chance to photograph my

tour as a US Navy Seabee in Vietnam. I used a Nikon F and Kodachrome slide film. I thought some day people would want to see these photos, wether I came back alive or not. Like most Vietnam Veterans I blocked out the war for decades. Thirty years passed before I scanned these photos. In 1998 I set up the web site Military Memories. (wardogs.com) The mission of Military Memories is to Support Our Troops and Veterans, Honor Our Fallen Comrades, and Preserve Military History. I published a photo gallery and guest book so Veterans could

comment on the photos. The response was overwhelming, with over 5000 entries

accumulated over 14 years. These guestbook entries are now in book form.

The guestbook is ongoing. Every entry is unique, with actual Veterans and

contact information. Numerous Veterans located buddies thru this guestbook.

Entries are much more than comments about the photos as you will see when you

read this fascinating book.
