Mario Incayawar, M.D., M.Sc., Ph.D.

Professor Mario Incayawar is an Inca (Quichua) physician-scientist and educator, interested in transcultural psychiatry and pain/analgesia. He is the recipient of the prestigious John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship 2006 and is the Founder and Director of the Runajambi Institute. www.runajambi.org

He is the former Henry R. Luce Professor in Brain, Mind, and Medicine: Cross-Cultural Perspectives, Claremont Colleges, California; and the former William F. Quillian Jr. International Professor, R-MWC, Virginia, USA. He was an elected (2008-2011) member of the Executive Committee of the Transcultural Psychiatry Section of the World Psychiatric Association; and the Founder and Medical Director of the Cross-Cultural Clinic for Pain and Psychiatry.
