Shari England grew up on a small farm in rural Oklahoma staked by her great-grandfather in the Great Oklahoma Land Rush in 1893. This pristine environment afforded her the tools for an imagination as vast and colorful as the wide-open skies unhindered by towering skyscrapers. First published in two separate publications at age 15 through a high school creative writing assignment, including Guidepost Magazine, she put down the pen after graduation to fulfill her simple dream of wife and motherhood. She continued to write, but did so more as a form of personal reflection.
Grave illness overturned her serene life for several years when she learned that an autoimmune disorder was destroying her liver, giving her less than 4 years to live. After God fully restored her through a liver transplant in 2001, she felt Him encourage her to begin writing again, but this time for Him. She began writing a weekly column in 2007 for the local newspaper, drawn from a combination of her life journey and her faith journey. In time, her readers suggested assembling the columns into a book, and Lessons from the Sticker Patch was born.
Shari currently lives in Medford,OK and has been married to Chuck since 1978. Their children now grown include two sons, Cory and Cole, and a daughter Kaci, and are now enjoying grandchildren as well. Her passions are The Lord, her family and friends, organ and blood donor awareness, writing, reading, and art.
