Dorene Withers

Dorene Withers was the lead singer for the Los Angeles based alt-rock band "The Black Nightingales." Her promising career as a songwriter was cut tragically short by drug and alcohol abuse and, after a brief stint in rehab, Dorene took her own life in a Pasadena half way house. Her collection of poetry, "Silent Nightingale" was published posthumously.
