Christine Pechacek

Christine Wener Pechacek was born in Mt. Clemens, Michigan in 1948. She grew up in Warren, a then rural area, one of four children born to Joseph and Shirley Wener. She began writing early, in personal journals, as a way to simply express emotions, thoughts and ideas. The impetus for her first book, If I Had Wanted a Trip Through Hell, I Would Have Bought My Own Ticket, grew out of a desire to leave her children and grandchildren a legacy of who she was and why. Christine's writing is personal and, at times, intimate, opening up for the reader a window into a childhood that was both tragic and funny.
