Elisa Guerra

Elisa Guerra was named “Best Educator in Latin America” by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in 2015 and was a finalist for the Global Teacher Prize in 2015 and 2016. She has been appointed to UNESCO’s International Commission on the “Futures of Education,” which launched at the United Nations General Assembly on September 2019.

The school she founded, Colegio Valle de Filadelfia, has been replicated in 5 Latin American countries. She has authored 26 books and textbooks for students and teachers. Her latest book, “Teaching in the Fourth Industrial Revolution,” co-authored with five renowned teachers, has received international acclaim. Originally published in English, the book has been translated into Spanish, as well. Currently, she is working on a new book, “Learning to read around the world”, for which she is visiting schools and interviewing teachers in many countries.

At her school in Aguascalientes, México, Elisa teaches language, social studies, and technology. She is also an international speaker and has presented both in English and Spanish in 16 countries.

Elisa has worked with both privileged and underprivileged children. She runs the Latin American chapter of The Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential (IAHP), an international NGO teaching parents how to help their brain-injured children. Elisa has also trained thousands of teachers, both online and face-to-face. She currently has 2800+ student-teachers from 56 countries for her online courses at Udemy. She is passionate about early education, global citizenship, and innovative teaching. Her work was featured in a 2017 Al Jazeera documentary entitled “Mexico: The Power of Early Education.”
