Kate Chamberlayne was born in Southern England in 1964. She was educated at Cambridge University. She married and moved to Germany in 1990. Two children, a tortoise and many years later, she ended up teaching English to German kids who hated English at school and is now able to show them what a brilliant language English is. She also teaches Business English to lovely German people who also hated English at school and now have to learn the language because their bosses tell them they have to learn it.
Kate Chamberlayne counts among her forebears; medieval kings and their chamberlains, a woman hanged for being a witch, a greedy, ship-owning Member of Parliament and baronet, Yorkshire wool factory owners, the court ophthalmologist to King George VI and the doctor who was responsible for saving submarine sailors' lives in World War Two.
Kate Chamberlayne is a pseudonym.
