Richard S. Platz

Richard S. Platz was born in the Chihuahuan desert of Arizona and raised first in rural Iowa, and then in a factory town in Illinois. After law school in Berkeley, California, he spent two years living in Mexico on the outskirts of Guadalajara. Rick returned to spend several years practicing criminal defense law in Oakland before relocating to Humboldt County, California, where he maintained a solo law practice for 35 years. He served as city attorney for Blue Lake for 32 of those years before retiring there in 2009.
