Laurie Kolp

Laurie Kolp is an award-winning, widely published poet living in Southeast Texas whose work can be found in Blue Fifth Review, scissors & spackle, North Dakota Quarterly, Pirene's Fountain, Prelude, Yellow Chair Review, Amarillo Bay, iARTistas, PoetsArtists, MiPOesias, Black Heart Magazine, Miller's Pond, cho, The Fib Review, Dead Mule's School of Southern Literature, plus many other print and online publications. Kolp is the author of Upon the Blue Couch and Hello, it's Your Mother. Laurie's poems have appeared in Writer's Digest twice after Robert Lee Brewer's Poetic Asides form contests for the Tritina and Nonet. Her poem, The Heart of Texas, is an example used in Diane Lockward's The Crafty Poet. In April 2013, Laurie participated in The Found Poetry Review (FPR) Pulitzer Remix, writing a found poem daily from John Updike's Rabbit at Rest. Her photography has been featured in Poetic PinUp Revue and graced the cover of MiCrow8: Winter 2013. Mother of six (a husband, three kids and two dogs), Laurie serves as CEO of household and President of Texas Gulf Coast Writers.
