Mr Stephen Davis

Born and raised in rural Buckinghamshire, Stephen Davis trained as a dental surgeon in London before starting his own practices and becoming a restorative hospital consultant. His clinical work ultimately focused on implants, advanced cosmetics and ‘giving people the smiles they wanted’. He married following a hospital romance, and he and his wife Philomena now have three children and three grandchildren.

The family moved to a smallholding in Dorset many years ago and keep sheep, cows, hens and pigs. They also produce most of their fruit and vegetables and are nearly self-sufficient.

Stephen has been a life-long falconer, hot-air balloonist and rider, but following a near-fatal accident three years ago during a polo match he had to spend several months in hospital. He has now made a good recovery (although his surgical career is at an end) and continues to improve slowly, though he still has limited speech, movement and vision.

Stephen has long enjoyed writing magazine articles, usually on falconry, horses or his beloved Dorset, and embarked on The Merlin Legacy, which was typed with one finger, during the first two years after his accident. He is now working on a sequel.
