Jennifer McDowell

Jennifer McDowell studied at the Australian College of Natural Medicine in Brisbane and Charles Sturt University graduating with a Bachelor in Health Sciences (Complementary Medicine), Advanced Diploma in Naturopathy and Nutrition and Diploma in Herbal Medicine. Jennifer commenced practice in Brisbane in 2000 and lectured in Ireland for 1 year in 2005. She is a well-respected and experienced practitioner having practised in Hawthorne, Cannon Hill and now Morningside.

Over the years she has presented many seminars on the benefits of herbal medicine and nutrition in achieving optimal health and wellbeing, organised bus trips to Northy Street Markets to educate on the nutritious value of organic fruits and vegetables, has successfully raised 2 boys and a girl and is now a grandmother of 2 beautiful healthy girls. Jennifer’s interest in the principles of natural health began when her daughter Kelly received her 6 month immunisation and developed meningitis. She believed the immunisation to be directly linked to her daughter contracting the deadly virus and so started her quest for answers and interest in natural medicine.

From early in her studies, Jennifer became aware of the importance of the principles of holistic health. This means that true health is a reflection of the whole person, the body, mind and the emotions. Everything is connected. It is regulated by the intelligence of the whole that we might call the life force, also known as the “Vital Force”. Any symptoms of ill health or disease stem from a disturbance in the balance of this whole. The symptoms themselves are the intelligent response by the life force to a disturbance, whether physical, environmental or emotional. These symptoms attempt to limit the damage and protect against further harm to the organism as a whole.
