I spent many happy hours creating imaginary stories with a large collection of characters -- my paper dolls-- while growing up in Midland, Michigan.
Later, as a science major, at College of DuPage and North Central College in Illinois, I took creative writing as a second major to balance my soul. Following graduation, the writing continued to maintain a sense of self in the busy world of singledom. While living in Madison, Chicago and Seattle, I joined and taught writing classes and participated in critique groups to share with others my passion for writing.
Returning to live in Wisconsin --The Village of Cambridge, I now delight every day in learning more and more about the lives of people growing up in small town America. It makes me smile to be able to capture the small town aura and put it on paper in the hopes that others will feel the warmth and enchantment I find here.
I write in my private time while maintaining a busy life with family and friends. Our four grown children and their families are, of course, my greatest fans. And, now at eight years into our marriage, my husband Doug, is my 'critique king.' From our castle in the woods, I nurture flowers into bloom and fictional characters into the light of day.
Currently I have four mysteries published:
Is it Safe?
and The Jessica Tyson Mystery Series
The Queen Anne Fox
Lost in the Underground
Emma's Garden.

Forced to take a break from writing, due to cancer, I'm ba-ack! Blessed with he love, support and prayers of family and friends and the fun-filled imagination of a writer, I am working with critique groups, including the CAP Writers of Cambridge.
I have two new suspense manuscripts in final read:
Secrets in the Snow
and
A Lake Koshkonong Tale
And . . . many, many more characters in my head, struggling to be set free onto the page.
Should you read one of my stories, please let me know what you think when you finish. I find it helps me to grow as a writer as I hear from readers, writers, and aspiring writers at jerolanderson@rocketmail.com and on Face Book.
