Bruce L. Nelson

I grew up on a dairy farm in east central Minnesota. I worked for over twenty years as an Alaska smokejumper, parachuting to wildfires across the American West. I currently live in a log cabin near Fairbanks, Alaska.

I enjoy backpacking, hunting and fishing, reading, travel, climbing and as much free time as possible to enjoy life.

I've written:

'Hiking the Pacific Crest Trail: Mexico to Canada' (my new book;)

'Alone in the Fortress of the Bears: 70 Days Surviving Wilderness Alaska, Foraging, Hunting, Fishing;' and

'Hunting Big Whitetails'

I made a popular documentary called 'Alone Across Alaska: 1,000 Miles of Wilderness.' and another one called

'Alaska Hunting Adventure: 700 Miles Alone by Backpack and Raft.'
