EJ Lamprey

After fifteen years in Scotland Elizabeth Lamprey upped sticks in 2017 and moved to the Costa Tropical in Spain - proof of the dangers of thorough research, which had taken her there several times.

Her usual style is cozy and she has said, when asked to compare her books to others, "The Hamish Macbeth series is probably the closest with a Scottish setting, and the gentle rambling is a bit No.1 Ladies Detective Agency..."

She also says of herself 'One of the best, absolute best, things about being an autumn rose, is that I've pretty much paid my family dues, done my bit, seen out my responsibilities and now it's my time. Time to live out dreams, tick those patient items on the to-do list, take on new challenges - time to seize the day.'

As EJ Lamprey she wrote the Grasshopper Lawns series of whodunits (set in Scotland), but also writes a bit of SF as Joanna Lamprey. She also, under the tongue-in-cheek name of Clarissa Rodgers-Briskleigh, writes novels and how-to books about the constantly expanding world of mature singles, a subject she has researched with fascination and enthusiasm since Five Six Pick Up Sticks, in which Edge Cameron deliberately joins a singles website to attract the attention of a genuine ladykiller.
