Writing isn't a job, a way of making a dollar, I've done that. Writings a calling, something that you have to do, something that you're born with, something that grows inside you like a dream suppressed by day coming back by night, something inside you, the knowledge of a doctor, the experiences of a lifetime, the experiences of one day or night that should live forever, human insight worth sharing with other humans, that of life learned worth passing on to others into the future. I'm a writer.

Writing, an expression of thoughts with no audience other than a computer screen or blank piece of paper, a message to humanity from neurons firing across synapses in a solitary human mind, a visual sound recreated a hundred and thirteen years after the living thought is stilled by death firing in other neurons across other synapses in an untold number of human minds living, a work that cannot be finished alone. Thoughts of one mind expressed without other minds reading and thinking is incomplete. Writing requires readers, but more than readers---critics and collaborators who share back with the author their thoughts.

Shakespeare, arguably the greatest English writer, wrote alone, had his work edited and polished by a dozen or more actors who performed it and thousands of people who listened in audiences cheering or jeering. Isn't that what made his work great? I have written alone, long for the joining of others to complete the work, as others completed Shakespeare's work, made thoughts universal live for centuries.

Why help me reach others?

Because these works are about life, things written to better the lives of others, to help them. Each book, and the books collectively, are about life and love and carry truths that once seen, once examined by the thinking mind are truths usable to better the reader's world.

Helping me do a better job of sharing these truths is right, helps make a better world, a better you. Help us, help others.

About me, my life, who I am, I'm not a Jim or Jack as has been added on some of my profiles, those would be sons, not me. My first name is common among both men and women, and it is no accident none of my children have ambiguous names. Those who read my books are overwhelming women, but are written about life and love, and often experiences of childhood common to both sexes. The point of view is commonly that of the main character, and may be masculine or feminine, most frequently feminine. I think putting my face on this page is about as useful as putting William Shakespeare's face one of his plays, even though I think most people would admit my face is more pleasant to the eye than his, or having a thesis from him about why he raised sheep on his author page, or me having a similar one about why I have an acre vegetable garden behind my barn and not one cow, sheep, or other food animal on the place---excepting a dozen or so deer who snort at me when I go in what they know to be their garden to take away what they believe are vegetables grown just for them.
