Gregory L. Heller is CEO of American Communities Trust, a Baltimore-based, not-for-profit organization, founded in 2008, and dedicated to “building social impact” in urban and low-income communities across the U.S. He has worked in the fields of planning and community/economic development for over a decade. Greg is the author of "Ed Bacon: Planning, Politics, and the Building of Modern Philadelphia" (Penn Press, 2013). He also published a chapter in "Imagining Philadelphia: Edmund Bacon and the Future of the City" (Penn Press, 2009). His writings on urban planning and development issues have appeared in publications including The Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia City Paper, and Next City. He is a graduate of Wesleyan University (Middletown, CT) and lives in Philadelphia.
