Pamela Atherstone is the great-granddaughter of German-Russian immigrants and an amateur genealogist focusing on Russians of German heritage. Born in California, she graduated from California State Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo obtaining a BS in Animal Science, with a focus on genetics. Later in life she discovered a deep interest in the undocumented lives of her ancestors left behind in Russia following the Revolution of 1917. Research and study led to the writing of her first novel, and she is currently working on a continuation to this story. She lives in the Central Valley of California with her husband, Jim, and her horses and dogs, and volunteers much of her time with educational organizations.
