Britt Vasarhelyi lives in Panama and writes mystery/thrillers set in Washington, DC and the enigmatic, ever-fascinating country of Panama.
Britt has been a professional writer since the age of twelve (book reviewer for hometown newspaper, the Savannah Morning News). Other jobs included: Congressional Press Secretary; Development Director of historic Ford’s Theatre; and co-owner of a Washington, DC public relations firm. As an editorial consultant, Britt’s clients ranged from Fortune 500 corporations, to the Copei political party in Venezuela (that was a while ago, folks, while there was still hope for poor, doomed Venezuela), to a lobbying effort on behalf of America’s zoos.
Britt has always had a passion for inventions and once held 2 patents.
Britt currently lives with Pluto, a St. Bernard/Rottweiler rescue; Rummy, the in-house mouser; a feral feline gang occupying the garage: King Tut, Toby, Thunder, and Lightning; plus a host of freeloaders who stop by for vittles at Casa Vasarhelyi.
The whole group is camped out on a mountain plateau looking toward a majestic volcano (hmm, dormant, for now) and the cloud forests and coffee farms of western Panama. Stop by and enjoy a cup of the world’s best tasting – and most expensive – coffee. (Except for some obscure Indonesian variety that’s passed through the intestines of a civet – but who wants that?)
MESSAGE FROM PANAMA, a thriller available on Amazon under the imprint of Hanging Moon Press, is Britt’s first novel. It was third place winner in the Daphne du Maurier literary contest, and a finalist for the Debut Dagger (Crime Writers Association, UK) award. A sequel, ESCAPE TO PANAMA, is due out soon.
