Edmund Marlowe was born in England and educated at Eton College, the setting for his novel, Alexander's Choice, which though fictional, is partly cathartic and inspired by his adolescent experience. After leaving university, he pursued his interests in ancient and mediaeval history, then settled in the French countryside with his wife and children.
