Alexander Hamilton is an economist and statistician working in the field of international development. Alexander holds a DPhil (PhD) in Politics (Political Economy) at the University of Oxford, an MPA in Public and Economic Policy from the London School of Economics, and an MSc in Public Health (Health Economics) from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Previously, he worked for the World Bank, and is now an economic adviser for the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO) based in Amman. He currently leads on FCDO's economic reform programme in Jordan. He has also completed postings in Sudan, the DRC, Iraq, and Libya. Alexander believes strongly in the importance of positive political theory and evidence based policy-making for realizing long-term economic growth.
