Amy Azzarito

Amy Azzarito is a design historian and author. Her forthcoming book, The Secret Language of Victorian Jewelry, will be published in August 2026. She is also the author of The Elements of a Home (2020) and Past & Present (2013). A PhD candidate in History at the University of York, her dissertation focuses on working women jewelers.

Writing about the history of design and decorative arts since 2008, she has contributed to Architectural Digest, Food52, and Design Milk, and is the former Managing Editor of Design*Sponge. She also writes This Trend in History, a Substack exploring the stories behind historical objects. She holds a Master's degree in the History of Decorative Arts & Design from Parsons and lectures at universities and historical societies across the country. She lives in Marin County, California.
