Lee Mossel

Lee Mossel was born in Eugene, Oregon. He grew up in the small logging and lumber mill community of Noti, Oregon, about twenty miles west of Eugene. In the era before kindergartens, he "tested" into elementary school at age five, was advanced through the second grade, and subsequently, graduated high school and entered the University of Oregon at age sixteen. After receiving Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Geology, he began a thirty-five year career in oil and gas exploration in Denver, Colorado.

A voracious reader of fiction, history, and biographies, as well as a part time op/ed columnist and speaker, he published his debut novel, THE MURDER PROSPECT, after stopping in the midst of reading a mystery thriller and saying, "I can write a better book than this!" Realizing that talk is cheap, he wrote THE MURDER PROSPECT. His debut novel featured geologist turned private investigator, Cortlandt Scott, and was self-published in October, 2012. THE MURDER PROSPECT was selected for inclusion in Denver's revered TATTERED COVER bookstore's Rocky Mountain Authors program.

The second Cort Scott thriller, THE TALUS SLOPE, was released in June, 2013, and is available at amazon.com and via Smashwords.com for e-books.

MORE THAN A 100% DEAD, a Cortlandt Scott mystery, was released in May, 2014 and was selected as a finalist in the genre fiction division for the 2015 Colorado Authors' League book awards.

A standalone novel, BED OF THORNS, was released September 30, 2015 and is receiving 5-star reviews from readers.

The fourth Cortlandt Scott mystery thriller, FRACKED TO DEATH, was released in January, 2017 and the fifth book in the series, A VINTAGE REVENGE, debuted November 1st, 2019. A VINTAGE REVENGE takes Cort Scott back to his roots in Oregon and utilizes many locations associated with Lee Mossel's youth.

He enjoys golf, travel, fine wines, family, and friends from his home in Parker, Colorado.
