Hi Readers!

The House on Devil’s Lane is my fifth psychological thriller. I like to bring you something a little bit creepy, a little bit uncanny, with a mystery at its heart. I am fascinated by the mind, and how we react in a crisis, so my characters find themselves in all sorts of sinister situations, usually with a bit of folklore or the supernatural thrown in for good measure!

A bit about me: I was born in Yorkshire, grew up in Northumberland and lived for many years in the Irish Republic before returning to Scotland. You will find my other books here too- Beneath the Skin, which was shortlisted for the Saltire Society First Book Award, 2017; Bone Deep; The Unmaking of Ellie Rook and Sight Unseen. I have also enjoyed success with my poetry, winning the Glasgow Women’s Library Bold Types Competition in 2022, and the Scottish Association of Writers’ Dorothy Dunbar trophy in 2016 and 2017. My work was featured in the WWF exhibition for COP 26 and has been published in various anthologies.
