Chris Barnham

Chris Barnham's short fiction has appeared in the Best of British Science Fiction, and a range of magazines, including Galaxy's Edge, Compelling Science Fiction and Interzone, the UK's top science fiction magazine.

First novel, 'Among the Living' is available as paperback and ebook. It's a hybrid of fantasy (with a modern twist on an old vampire legend) and kidnap thriller, which according to one reviewer “…transforms what starts out as a simple and passionate love story into a threatening, supernatural mystery.”

His second novel 'Fifty-One' is a time-travel love triangle: Amy died in 1944, Jake was born in 2010 and is married to Hannah in 2040. When Jake is marooned in 1940s London and falls in love with Amy, how can he save her without wrecking the future? The story was inspired by a real event, a German V1 rocket that fell on a busy shopping street in south London in July 1944, killing fifty-one people. It was described by Interzone as "better plotted than Connie Willis."

Chris combines writing with running a small business, and active involvement in community politics in south London, where he has lived since the 1980s. You can find him at https://www.chrisbarnhambooks.com and on Twitter (@barnham_chris).
