Welcome to the world of Alan Ross. Welcome to the world of a caring and passionate man, a man who struggles with the ups and downs of life; a man who desires change. Alan, through a mixture of circumstance and choice, finds himself being carried down the river of fate, and into a life with some equally unusual, caring, passionate and interesting characters. Alan, as an old man, recalls the adventures that he enjoyed, the mischief that he caused, the adversity that he overcame, and the love that he won and lost, throughout a period in his life in which the hands of fate reveal their cards. Alan finds himself in a place of warmth, a place of love, a place filled with a passion for life. A place that invigorates his heart and soul, and that leads him on an unexpected adventure of self-discovery, of love, and of loss. An adventure chock full of the lessons of life; the discovery of oneself, of people, of places, of priorities and personality, and ultimately, of good and evil. These people and these adventures unwind to become the story of Alan's life, as he spills the beans on every detail of his growing and fading relationships. A life story of how seemingly ordinary situations are turned by circumstance into situations that you don't ordinarily encounter. The fun and frolics, the laughter and tears, the games and adventures that build into an interesting and eventful life. A life of an otherwise ordinary man. The life of Alan Ross.

From the beginning the depth of the characters gripped me. Well written, descriptive, eloquent and engaging. What more could you ask for?? An evolving sequel would be nice. I find it impossible not to appreciate the book and pay the writer his due credit for this beautiful narrative.

Oh wow, I really didnt want this book to end. We follow the story of Alan, a young guy who has had a few too many of life's downs recently, what with ex girlfriends running off with fat, rich guys, and sharing a housing block with druggies and smelly tramps. Its bad... until Alan gets a job working in a beautiful, old Surrey country house. There he makes some of the best friends he has ever had, Maccy the Lady of the house and Muckers the gardener. The things these new mates get up to...

It is so beautifully written and the characters so impeccably decribed that you really feel like you are there with them with all the hilarious things they get up to. I have laughed so hard reading this book, the dialogue between characters flows magnificently. I especially loved the supermarket scene, I was literally in stitches with it!

I think on the whole the story is funny, it really made me laugh, but there was an undercurrent of sadness too, the lengths despicable nasty people will go to just to increase their bank balance. Slurmanther, what a stuck up cow, love it!

I've laughed, I've cried and I've wanted to throw things.

I like the way that true people, all on their own individual paths have somehow made their way to each other, falling into the most loyal, genuine friendship. It really is heartwarming, and although things don't quite work out how my die hard romantic head would like perhaps, I do think the ending was actually bloody brilliant.

If you like lovely people and enjoy being silly then you must read this book

Looking forward to reading more from this talented writer

5.0 out of 5 stars Why is Trigwell not the most well known author in the Uk?

It’s rare for me to discover a book that has me caught within its web in the first couple of pages but Inner Silent Way did exactly that.

Trigwell, a superb author, has the very envied talent of being able to paint such amazingly detailed pictures with his words and humour.

The world of Alan Ross (the main character) and his shenanigans are compelling, hysterical and often grounding. It’s a story of wonderful friendships with the crazy, loveable Maccy and old, but very endearing Muckers and co.

This book carries you away to somewhere lovely, somewhere where laughter and being silly seems to be an hourly, if not a daily occurrence. Filled with relationships, love, loss, and treachery this book is an absolute treat of a read.

I’m sad to be coming to the end of this masterpiece and look forward to Trigwells next offering with great anticipation.

Just this second finished reading Bonx Trigwell's book 'Inner Silent Way', and am seriously glad I've finally had the opportunity to read it! During the course of 365 pages, I've split my sides laughing, been amazed at his stunning descriptions of the countryside, met some fabulous characters, including Maccy, Muckers, Josse the goat and 5 adorable little dogs, shared their various exploits, including a trip in a combine harvester, a head first dunking in a deep snow drift, hilarious evenings in 'The Red Lion', a blue frilly bath cap, pink slippers, a white fluffy bathrobe, suspenders and stockings and a pee pot, was riveted to the spot for the last 100 pages, have felt angry, shocked, appalled, sad and have cried, especially about the dogs and Josse the goat, and again at the end - and oh what an end it is!!! The entire book is full of warmth and cracking humour! Bonx Trigwell has done himself proud!! Five out of five for me!

4.0 out of 5 stars Inner Silent Way by Bonx Trigwell

The Inner Silent Way is the second book by Bonx Trigwell and this time he writes from a purely fictional perspective, although I couldn't help but wonder how much of the story finds its origin in the personal experiences of the author.

Set in the Surrey countryside, Alan is the main character, a single man who is not so lucky in love. His trade is carpentry and through this he secures a job restoring a staircase in an old country house. He makes some very dear new friends and, with them, he has the happiest funniest time of his life. Those days are numbered however and a dark cloud is looming.

The characters created by Bonx range from snooty and greedy to eccentric, humorous and generous. Apart from loving his main characters, for me, Slurmantha has to be the best but I'll leave you to discover her.

Bonx has an ability to tell a good yarn and one has to wonder whether, in a previous incarnation, he was a medieval travelling storyteller. His method of using dialogue to tell much of the story enables him to use his wicked skills at humour which are sure to make the reader chuckle out loud.

I enjoyed reading this book and wonder whether, with the author's ability to create such large personalities and dialogue, his next literary excursion might be as a playwright.
