Ankur Gupta

Ankur Gupta is an author, innovator, entrepreneur, and management professional whose work over more than five decades has been driven by one enduring mission: to use technology to preserve knowledge, amplify creativity, and make timeless wisdom accessible to future generations.

Raised in the Himalayan foothills of Mussoorie, he graduated from BITS Pilani before completing the Post Graduate Programme in Management at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (PGP '76). Over a professional career spanning more than five decades, he has worked at the intersection of healthcare, management, technology, and creativity. Following leadership roles at Johnson & Johnson and Cipla, he founded Proman, a strategic healthcare consultancy that has partnered with the pharmaceutical industry for over five decades.

An early adopter of the Apple Macintosh, Ankur recognized the transformative potential of digital technology long before it became mainstream. Through Vividh Multimedia, he pioneered several landmark digital publishing initiatives in India, including the world's first interactive CD-ROM edition of the Indian Pharmacopoeia, multilingual interactive storybooks featuring original music by the legendary flautist Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, and pioneering works in digital medical publishing and spiritual art.

His pioneering work has ranged from healthcare knowledge systems and educational publishing to digital art, AI-assisted creativity, and the preservation of India's literary and cultural heritage.

His literary work reflects a unique convergence of scholarship, design, technology, and Indian cultural heritage. His books span classical Sanskrit literature, embroidery, creativity, education, and spirituality, combining meticulous research with visual excellence and contemporary relevance. His notable works include *The Embroidery Encyclopedia*, *Bharat's Creative Embroidery*, *Seed of Genius*, *Chaitanya Jyoti*, and the definitive bilingual *Bhartrihari Trilogy*.
