Les Dale worked for over 40 years in the photographic business. In 1966 he started as a colour enlarging assistant in a large photolab. in Sheffield. 18 years later he was the production manager.
In 1984 the 1hr. photo lab replaced the large labs, so his interest in photography led to a mini lab and studio.
23 years on, digital photography killed off film processing, which meant semi-retirement for Les.
After success with his first short story "Five Hundred Reasons," Les's first novelette, Runner 267, with over 16,000 words, is a follow up story. This holiday romance legacy makes a good train journey read.
Having completed over 3000 product shots, Les decided to put his photographic skills to good use, embarking on a series of close up photos of everyday objects taken from unusual angles. A new series of "What's That? - Photo Puzzles" eBooks are now available.
Finding an old family recipe book in 2015, Les decided to share the simple ingredient recipes with another ebook - "Grandma's Little Black Book of Recipes - from 1910 " you can now enjoy the tastes and smells from over 100 years ago.
His latest book "Growing up in Hope" is a nostalgic look back at life as a small boy living in the small village of Hope, in the heart of the Peak District of Derbyshire. Bring back to life the smell of shire horses being shod by the local blacksmith, to trips into nearby Sheffield, past the brewery filling the air with the aroma of hops.
Living in the UK's beautiful Peak District in Derbyshire, Les now has time to enjoy family life, hill walking and photography. Writing ebooks using html has also become a new hobby.
