Karen Barron Smith

Karen Barron Smith has written for National Horse and Parent Magazines. She has traveled all over the world with her marketing company, but writing was her first love.

Having owned a horse breeding farm in Kentucky for many years, it was there on the farm she learned of a child's strong bond with horses as school groups and youth activity groups toured the farm. She saw the children's look of true love for these large animals and the burning desire to touch, ride and even own one of these beautiful creatures. The puffed look of pride was evident on each child's face as they drew near the horses.

It was only natural that her first book series, "The Adventures of Zebata" would be about a child and her determination to own a special horse.
