John August Schumacher

My writing "career" started in the mid-1980s with short stories and satire. In the early 1990s, I tried my hand at poetry, and have composed over 150 works of verse to-date. Short stories gave way to full-length novels, while satire was expressed in both prose and verse. Finally, my scholarly pursuits led me to write about history, theology, philosophy, and other topics, many of which are embedded in my novels as well. Writing is my outlet, my way to capture the contents of imagination, and also a way to reflect and comment on the state of the world.

John August Schumacher holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in history and religion from Concordia College (Moorhead, Minnesota) and a Master of Arts Degree in history and theology from Wartburg Theological Seminary (Dubuque, Iowa). Now employed in the field of Information Technology, he lives with his wife and two children near Omaha, Nebraska.
