Paul Soderberg

Having lived 18 years in Asia, Paul Soderberg set his first novel, "The Elephant Queen," in Thailand (now in its 2nd edition, 2012). His "Good and Evil in Afghanistan" is a novella plus a novel ("The Legend of the Alone Stranger" and "The March of the Frozen Martyrs"). But most of the 10 stories in his "Golden Insanity" are set in the United States, each one exploring a current American social issue (for example, "The Butterfly Bird" is about literacy, and "City of Sorrow" is about health care in America today). First published when he was 14 years old (an article in the Summer 1964 issue of "International Conservation" magazine), Paul has now published a total of around 40,000 printed pages in magazines, newspapers, scientific journals, literary journals, books, reference books, and manuals. For 8 years he was Editor of "Art-Talk," which at the time (mid-1980s to mid-90s) was the largest-circulation art newspaper in the world. For a series of investigative newspaper articles, he was named "National Newsperson of the Year" by the largest and oldest Hispanic organization in the world, the League of United Latin American Citizens, at LULAC's 1990 annual convention. He is a member of the International Advisory Board of the "Young Scientists Journal," an online journal published in Canterbury, UK, for scientists aged 12 to 20. Now retired in Arizona, Paul spends his time writing fiction and mentoring young novelists.
