My father taught me to write. He seemed to live in a magical world of make believe with his books. Lately I've been happy to reprint his book The Fallen Sky through my publishing company Izzy Publishing. In the 60's he sent his book to MGM Studios in Hollywood...we were all on benefit in England. The executive said to come out as they might make it into a movie. He borrowed some money and arrived in Hollywood with no money and no friends. The day he arrived the executive had been fired. He went on to become a successful actor (On a Clear Day and the original Doctor Doolittle) and writer as a writer of scripts and books of the movie. The family joined him two years later and I had a magical childhood on the set of 20th Century Fox and auditioning for the Brady Bunch. It was in the studio I started writing and I still am years later. My father told me writers are at their best in their forties and fifies...which is something nice about getting older. I like to write about what I feel passionate about or things that are amusing. It took me about 8 years to write my novel Talking to Angels. Some of it is the story of my own psychic ability and accepting my path. It is also the battle I've had with someone although in books you can disguise things heavily so no one gets hurt. Writing can be fun...it can be a lot of hard work but its great when someone says to you as happened to me in Chicago this year: " I couldn't put it down!" Then all the hard work is worth it. Please forgive my spelling and punctuation. Like my father I'm not very good at those. Love and light Maria
