Jane Ellen Harris was born and raised in a rural area of mid Michigan with one brother and two sisters. After attending Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant Michigan, she purchased a dry cleaning business in southeast Michigan. During the same year, she also purchased a ten acre farm that soon became a rescue haven for lost, unwanted and abused animals. After many wonderful years tending the animals and enjoying the children that stopped by on a regular basis, she made the decision to move back to her hometown to help care for her aging father. Although the days of being the ‘farm lady’ are never far from her thoughts, she is excited about the new path she has chosen as a children’s author.
