Paul Smith has always had an interest in writing, especially after he was praised by his elementary school teacher for a poem about falling leaves! Since then he has tried to pass on a love of writing to the children he has taught at various schools around England, and in his current work as an educational consultant, where he often runs writing and drama workshops.
For a while Paul worked for a local BBC radio station and thanks to a very strict editor had to learn the art of writing concisely, a useful skill as it turned out!
His first two books, 'Where The Rats Run Free' and 'When The Rats Break Out', are part of a series about a divided society in a not-too-distant future, where the young are the have-nots and the Elders have everything. Fiction of course, and it could never possibly happen...could it?
