Adrian Waygood

My name is Adrian Waygood, and I was born in Swansea in South Wales. After completing a five-year student apprenticeship, I was employed as an electrical engineer with the South Wales Electricity Board. I then joined the Royal Navy as an instructor officer, responsible for teaching electrical-engineering science to artificer (technician) apprentices and mechanicians in shore establishments and at sea. After then emigrating to Canada, I taught electrical-engineering technology at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT). During that period, I took a two-year sabbatical from NAIT and was awarded a commission in the Royal Navy of Oman, as Head of Instructional Design. Other work included Apprenticeship Program Manager with the Government of British Columbia, Instructional Design Consultant with the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT), Senior Training Manager with British Aerospace, and Head of Instructional-Media Production at the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) in the United Arab Emirates. I have also consulted on instructional-design methods with teacher-training colleges in India and Indonesia, together with other freelance work for BC Hydro and Bridgwater College in the UK. I am now retired, and living in Cyprus.
