I have been dabbling in poetry since childhood (a long time ago!) and have finally produced a little book 'Whimsical Verse'.
I have always been keenly interested in the welfare of children. Consequently I chose a career in nursing, training at the Royal Alexander Hospital for Children in Camperdown NSW Australia.
Since then I have had three children of my own and loved sharing in all in activities in which they were involved and thoroughly enjoy the same with grandchildren.
As a Handwriting Anylist I have also worked with children.
I have been a member of the Upper Blue Mountains Branch of Save the Children, Australia for twenty years. A very worhtwhile cause, where we help make a difference to the lives of needy children throughout the world.
My sister, to whom this book is dedicated, was an Infants and Primary School Teacher, working in many schools in country NSW. She was awarded the Premier's 'Excellence in Teaching' award. We shared many happy hours writing and drawing together.I am proud to have some of her drawings in the book. Unfortunately she passed away before completion of Whimsical Verse.
I believe all age groups will enjoy 'Whimsical Verse'. Several of the poems have been published in the NSW Department of Education Magazines and other publications.
