Ross Channing Reed Ph.D.

Ross Channing Reed, Ph.D., is an author, philosopher, philosophy professor, musician, and philosophical counselor. When not philosophizing, teaching, writing, playing the trombone or counseling, he is often stumbling around on trails and dirt roads in the Ozark woods (something he refers to as "hiking" and "running", although it looks to some impartial observers more like a death march into the heart of darkness). He may at other times be seen mountain biking or riding his dual-sport motorcycle. Dr. Reed is the author of LOVE AND DEATH: AN EXISTENTIAL THEORY OF ADDICTION in which he develops a unique nonphysiological theory of addiction using, in part, the writings of Soren Kierkegaard and Jean-Paul Sartre. He is also the author of A PHILOSOPHER REPORTS TO PLANET EARTH, a series of philosophical essays on the economic downturn, terrorism, torture, war, metaphysics, ethics, love, relationships, healthcare, warrantless surveillance and more.
