Kelda Ytterdal

Kelda Ytterdal is a blogger and author in her spare time. Kelda’s father and his siblings were born and raised in Seattle, Washington, by immigrant parents from Norway. Kelda also is a Seattle native and grew up in the Fremont District where she watched that part of town evolve from a deserted shopping area of mom-and-pop shops to what it is today: a lively hub of activity and businesses. Everyone in the family attended B.F. Day elementary school, Hamilton Middle School, and Lincoln High School, and some graduated from the University of Washington. The family has always had a strong interest in collecting and readers will now reap the benefits. Readers will have the opportunity to see what Seattle looked like from the early 1900’s through the latter part of the 20th century with occasional personal commentary. Her books will spark memories for anyone who lived in those times. They also provide younger generations with a glimpse of a simpler life before automobiles became necessities and before technology was everywhere. Those who know and love Seattle will discover that even though years have passed the city is still recognizable now as it was then.
