Author J. Winfield Currie...Allow me to introduce myself

I was raised on a working dairy farm in Norwell, Mass on 40 acres of open fields and woodlands during the ‘50s and ‘60s. A deeply ingrained appreciation of nature and the ability to cope with often complex rhythms of daily farm life provided me with a solid foundation on which to build.

My father was a taxidermist...a somewhat unique vocation...who loved to hunt, fish, camp in the Adirondack Mountains and shoot skeet in the back fields. During many of my formative years, I could be found in his workshop up to my elbows in...‘stuff'...for lack of a more delicate word.

I have worked 28 years in Retail Hardware, thinking ‘outside the box’, using creativity in problem-solving and building self-sufficiency. ‘Bellying up to the bar with the boys’ also provided a unique outlook on life...an added treat.

A graduate of Mass College of Art in Boston, I have taught art at the secondary level, worked in Graphic Design, and create fantasy art watercolors of wizards, dragons and Celtic Mythology. However, writing is my passion, and my unique background makes the Revolutionary War Era my comfort zone, blending perfectly and lending authenticity to my writing. FYI...The granite foundation block, under the farmhouse I grew up in, was set in the early 1700's.
