Jo-Ann L. Tremblay

I am a published writer, artist, photographer, Personal/Professional Life Coach (retired), and grandmother of 8 grandchildren. I am motivated by my desire to celebrate the individuality and experiences of children and adults alike. It is with joy that I create literary works that benefit people, while honouring their uniqueness and courage.

My career and life experiences are varied, inspiring me to write and publish a wide scope of non-fiction books for adults, fiction picture books for very young readers, and novels for children 8+ years of age.

Watching my grandchildren's life adventures as they grow up and learn, gives me ideas to create. I observe them play, ponder, explore, resolve their conflicts, make decisions, solve problems, and decide on solutions. They ignite my passion by their courage as they endure challenging times. It is with this in mind that I write and illustrate adventure novels for young readers. The Sibs Gang series is part of the permanent Manitoba Museum Covid-19 Artifact Collection, (Canada).

A major role in my adult non-fiction books came about after lifesaving surgery in 2011, which resulted in the creation of an ostomy. From that time on, I am committed to sharing ostomy information, awareness and advocacy. I achieve this through my published Ostomy books, and having served on the Ostomy Medical/Lifestyle Committee of the Ostomy Canada Society, (www.ostomycanada.ca), in the capacity of Ostomy Lifestyle Expert. In addition, I contribute articles for ostomy magazines in Canada, USA, UK, and Australia.

Further to my commitment to ostomy awareness, I have combined my photography and writing skills, to create a Paediatric Ostomy Awareness book for very young children. I serve as a member of the United Ostomy Association of America, (UOAA Paediatric to Young Adults Education Web Pages Development Committee, www.ostomy.org).
