Margot Rising

Margot Stoffel (now Rising) was born in Watertown, South Dakota, the daughter of musicians. Her mother studied opera and wrote poetry and her father was an organist/pianist/violinist. Her parents came to the US from Germany in 1929. Margot and her brother grew up in various small towns in South Dakota and Minnesota where their dad took teaching positions as a band director and worked his way up to school Superintendent. She composed music under her married name at the time of Margot Vesel and formed her own publishing company.

She taught school, gave private music lessons, was organist and choir director at churches and at a Federal Correctional Institution for many years. She later accepted a job as organist/choir director at a church as well as working at a clock shop and insurance agency to support her composing/writing. When Margot (now Margot Vesel Rising) became a widow, she started seriously writing novels for the enjoyment of senior citizens. Having broadened her horizons, she says she now writes novels for women of all ages. She published nine novels through a print-on- demand company, but has written more than twenty. She still composes music, but she recently added three eBooks, THE WIDOWS ON 3 WEST. EMILY'S LITTLE MIRACLE and ORPHAN ON MY DOORSTEP. ORPHAN ON MY DOORSTEP is now in paperback edition through a different publisher. I was unable to complete the paperback edition, but the Bookwhip Publishing seems to have done just that without my approval. It's a shame. They really did nice work, just didn't understand the words, DO and DON'T.

I am updating this 6/28/2020. The Coronavirus has kept me indie for months, so to save my sanity, I decided to write again. This time they are mysteries, my first attempt. The Musician's Murder Mystery turned out to be a series of books. Five eBooks are complete and available on amazon.com. I have started Book VI, so God willing, I will be able to finish that in the next few months. I would appreciate any feedback reviews, good or bad.
