Author and illustrator, Sherry Wilson-King, is a licensed marriage and family therapist and certified addiction professional. She has been a psychotherapist for more than 20 years, treating all age groups and genders from a multi-cultural perspective. Sherry is also a clinical supervisor and consultant, who has been an advocate for children and families for more than 25 years.
Her first children's book in a series, The Adventures of Koosey the Ladybug: Koosey's Garden, was inspired by her daughters, her love of nature, and her passion for literacy. The themes of this book include learning to accept change, practicing empathy, and achieving dreams.
Sherry earned her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy, and her Bachelor of Arts, (double major in English and Communication Arts) from St. Thomas University, Miami, Florida. A lover of the arts, she also did dual studies in Drama and Art at Miami-Dade College, Miami, Florida and earned an Associate of Arts degree in Drama / Drama Education.
Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, Sherry grew up with an appreciation for sunny days at the beach, the magnificence of nature, and the diversity of humanity.
