Roger Paulding

Roger Paulding was born in Oklahoma and attended Daniel Webster High School, Oklahoma State University, and was graduated from Hardin-Simmons University in 1948. During his high school years, he was active in writing for the school publications, and had two short stories and a three part serial published in denominational Sunday School magazines, for which he was paid $10 each. His last summer at HSU, he managed the Publicity Department.

For twenty years, he was involved with the fashion industry, and eventually owned his own retail store. When he retired, he returned to his first love, writing. In 1997, he became president of the Fort Bend Writers Guild, which eventually became the Houston Writers Guild and grew to more than 200 members. When HWG became too much to guide at the age of 82, he turned it over to younger members. Following that, he started a boutique organization, The Houston Writers House, which currently has 60 members.

His first published book was The Pickled Dog Caper in 2005 and it became the first volume of the Seney Chronicles, set in the late 18th century in the colonies. The series includes two other novels, Solomon's Journey, and Jonathan's Journey.

In early 2013, his contemporary novel Bought Off was published by Aakenbaaken & Kent.
