Dr. Andy Williams

After graduating from Hull University in North Humberside, I completed a Ph.D. in endocrinology at Cardiff University, studying hormone systems in fish. After a few years as a research associate there, I packed a rucksack and set off to explore Nepal, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and Australia. Somewhere between temples and tropical coastlines, I realized I wanted to teach.

Returning to Old Blighty, I headed to Birmingham University to earn my teaching certificate. My first teaching post took me to Tenerife, Spain, where I met my future wife. After a few years teaching in Madrid, we returned to Tenerife, started a family, and adopted two dogs. A seven-year spell back in the UK followed before the island called us home once again, and it’s where we still live today.

These days, I continue to teach—but through writing and creating online courses. Most of my books are practical guides on subjects like WordPress, SEO, and digital skills, though I’m also venturing into fiction and exploring how artificial intelligence can enhance creativity and learning.

As the old saying goes, “May you live in interesting times.” And indeed, we do.
