About the Author

I was born in Pineville, Bell County, Kentucky November 28, 1942, and grew up in this beautiful southeastern part of the Blue Grass state. I attended Bell County High School, graduating in 1959, and then enrolled at Union College in nearby Barbourville, Kentucky which was a small Methodist based college. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in 1963 from Union in Business Administration and Accounting. After graduating from College I immediately began my business career working for a wonderful man named Fred G. Roark, who was the owner of a CPA firm with offices in Pineville and Pikeville, Kentucky. Two years later, I entered the Health Care field, where I was hired as an Administrator at a hospital in Hazard, Kentucky, at the age of 23 years old. I have spent the rest of my working life (over 45 years) as a Hospital Administrator. I have been able to serve my community over the years by staying involved in community organizations. I have been Chairman of the Board of Tri State Federal Credit Union for 26 years, one of the larger Credit Unions in the western Pennsylvania area. I was President of the Winter Park Federal Credit Union, and Board Member of the University of Florida Federal Credit Union. I have held the office of President of the East Liverpool YMCA, Vice President of the Ohio Valley Home Health Agency, Treasurer of the Hospital Financial Management Association, Board Member of the Salvation Army, Vice President of the Community Resource Center, Treasurer of the Rotary Club, President and Treasurer of the Jaycees, and Board Member of the East Liverpool City Hospital. I was named businessman of the year for the state of Ohio in 2003, by the Republican Congressional Committee. In October 2009, I was included into the Business and Professional Hall of Fame at Union College, where I graduated. I am also a Kentucky Colonel. I have Sixteen books published. I am now retired and have spent the last 31 years in East Liverpool, with my wonderful wife Margaret Sue Lefevers Brock. We just celebrated our 48th Anniversary together. We have 3 wonderful children and 6 grandchildren.
