Galina Imrie

Galina Imrie was born in Moscow, in the then Soviet Union, at the tail end of baby boom, and is officially a baby boomer. After reading French, English and educational psychology, she had a career in television and journalism, but realized that there was no light at the end of that tunnel.

She emigrated to Glasgow to start a new life, and ended up in a self-imposed writing ban for about 15 years. During that time she moved to Maidenhead, just outside London, had a career in the City as a translator and interpreter in the legal and banking industry, got knocked out by the 1998 Russian default, and realized that there was no light at the end of that tunnel either.

From 1999, after retraining, Galina has been working as a therapist, digestive health consultant and educator, fulfilling her lifelong dream of trying to make a living by figuring out how people are wired and plumbed. The curse of creative numbness was finally lifted in 2006, when Galina published her first book on colon hydrotherapy, "Always Look After Number Two", now in its second successful edition, and at the top of its genre on Amazon.

Human plumbing and wiring is still the main focus of Galina's writing, especially the "blips" that no one else wants to talk about, like smelling, sweating, belching, itching, making tummy noises, passing gas, not experiencing sexual fulfillment and so on.

Galina hopes that having read her books, her readers will become more comfortable in their own body, understand a bit more how they are wired, plumbed and insured, and, frankly, become a bit more accepting of themselves, hence a lot happier... and, hopefully, get better dates!
