Grace Chia-yu Hsu Yang

In 1995 when I was a junior faculty at Cornell Medical Center in New York City, a Cytopathology fellow and I modified Papanicolaou stain for fine needle aspiration (FNA) cytology to hemolyse aspirated blood and shortened the time from 20 min to 90 sec by adding formalin. I was then invited by a radiology office one day a week to provide on-site assessment for their patients underwent ultrasound and CT-guided FNA biopsies. See link:

Subsequently, I was recruited to New York University Medical Center (1996-2006). In 11/2006, I returned to Cornell, where I correlated my FNA diagnoses to the histopathology of the thyroidectomies of the private radiology patients.
