Michael David Nelsen

Michael David Nelsen, writer and artist, was born and grew up in the frigid lands of Minnesota. He likes to think the harsh winters helped shape him into a rugged ideologue, with an existential awareness of the fragility of life, love, and power. But that's just so he can sound clever.

Trained as an Artist, Graphic Designer, and Web Developer, he was able to take those skills, mixed with a lifelong love of literature, pulp adventures, science fiction, and metaphysics, mix that with a dash of humor and recklessness, and begin writing Comic Books and Graphic Novels. His first published work, "SideShows" (with scribe Erik Hendrix) was said to have "Energetic, dynamic art and a great story." by comic legend Mark Waid.

Since that time he has worked with Heavy Metal Magazine, Virus Comics, 215 Ink, Arcana Studios, and Asylum Studios, producing stories in long and short form across multiple genres from Sci-Fi and Horror to Magical Alt History and Pseudo Biographies. Look for his works "Cryptwalker", "Philip K. Dick's Head is Missing", and "Supernaut" available from Heavy Metal.

A multi-award winning Graphic Designer, he now seeks to further his writing career with more comics and novels planned for the immediate future.
